SDGs
Supporting customers' achievement of SDGs by optimizing logistics
CO2 reduction
Labor shortage measures
BCP
Risk management is an urgent task for many companies in order to realize a sustainable society centered on decarbonization.
In the field of logistics, it is necessary to solve many issues such as reduction of CO2 emissions, measures against labor shortages, and dealing with the risk of disruption of logistics due to disasters (BCP).
By optimizing logistics and proposing SDGs, we are working to solve the problems our customers face and realize sustainable logistics and society.

Logistics optimization approach
Optimizing wasteful and inefficient overall logistics will lead to the achievement of SDGs.
We introduce 4 approaches that contribute to the achievement of SDGs.

Suzuyo's efforts to contribute to SDGs
The spirit of "Tomoiki (Symbiosis)", which is the backbone of our management, has many things in common with the 17 goals of the SDGs, and we believe that our business activities and initiatives will lead to the realization of a sustainable society.
"Tomoiki" is a concept adopted by Yohei Suzuki the 6th, in Taisho and Showa era, as a mental support for employees. We are required to achieve our goals as an individual and to contribute to society as a company. Since then, we have worked to solve social issues with the aim of being a company that is trusted by society.
In order to realize the SDGs, we have organized the activities that we should focus on in the medium- to-long-term based on the 3 concepts of "Tomoiki" summarized in the table below.
1. Activity with customers/business partners

2. Activity with co-workers and group companies

3. Activity with society

Activities with co-workers and group companies
We strive to create a work environment where employees can work with greater motivation, respect human rights and diversity, and where individual employees can demonstrate their strengths.

Office renovation
We are renovating our offices to create a "highly productive work style" and an "attractive space that makes people more communicative". Going forward, we will continue to create an environment that is easy to work in so that we can provide even better services to our customers.

Establishment of "Work Style Reform Department"
Introduced in September 2021 centered on four systems: course grade, personnel evaluation, wages and limited-area work. We aim to create a corporate culture in which employees can learn, think, and act on their own with high motivation to develop their careers.

Activities for Digital transformation
We are improving the environment for problem solving through digitization and data utilization. We are also conducting training for all employees to understand digital transformation/technology, completely renovating our basic accounting system, and collaborating with companies that promote digital transformation.
Activities for society
In addition to contributing to everyone through the provision of better services in our core business, we are also working to support various fields such as education, culture and welfare.

Support of "Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology"
In April 1991, Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology was opened as the first science and technology university in Shizuoka Prefecture, amid strong demands for the enhancement and expansion of university education and research systems. We will continue to contribute to regional development through the development of human resources, who will lead our future.

Donation of food to Fujinokuni Food Bank
We purchase products from Shimizu Shokuhin Co., Ltd. that are about to expire, and donate them to the NPO Fujinokuni Food Bank. We support the purpose of the organization's activities, which provide living support for needy households, and reduce food loss.

Covid-19 job-wise vaccination
From March 1, 2022, in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, we have implemented job-wise vaccinations for approximately 24,000 people, including group companies' employees and their families, as well as customers and local residents.
We will continue to provide better services for our customers in order to reduce CO2 emissions, address labor shortages, and implement BCP.
We will continue to support education, culture and welfare through activities that lead to the development and securing of excellent human resources of our employees, who are the driving force of our corporate activities, and through social contribution activities as a corporate citizen, in order to realize a sustainable society.
