Local community contribution activity

"Matching Gift" is a donation fund where an amount of 100 yen each month is donated by volunteer employees through salary deduction. The company adds the same amount as the volunteer employee's one year saving, and donates to volunteer activities, welfare facilities and district social cooperatives in Shizuoka City. Donations are used for the activities of each organization as well as the purchase of necessary supplies. Moreover, we also conduct visits to the various organizations that receive donations so as to build relationships and deepen our mutual understanding.

This activity is to donate our own stock of emergency supplies such as retort pouch rice and canned mackerel etc. to the Shizuoka social welfare council. These supplies are kept in preparation for emergencies and amassed as a result of regular replacement of disaster prevention stockpiles.
In response to the ever increasing number of people who are in need of life support due to the prolonged effects of COVID-19, Suzuyo is conducting activities in collaboration with group companies.

Shizuoka city will play a key role in forest maintenance necessary for the forest to absorb CO2. Shizuoka city is conducting an activity known as Forest Environment Adopt to which Suzuyo is in agreement and will contribute to by trying to reduce and absorb CO2 emitted within the city-limits.
In recognition of our efforts to preserve forests that constitute about 80 percent of the city's area, we have been certified as a Shizuoka City Forest Environment AdoptCompany.

For the purpose of supporting on-business experience of local junior high school students, we are holding site tours. Our recent activities include 360-degree camera images of offices and ports etc. for their better understanding, due partly to COVID-19 prevention measures.

Since 2018, we are conducting an activity to cultivate "sakamai" and brewing of sake with the theme of local revitalization and contribution to local society. The activity is also useful for further deepening communications between employees and also their family members. Currently 2 spots are used as the site: Kikukawa-city (Shizuoka prefecture) and Ushiku-city (Ibaraki prefecture), the latter of which is for employees located around Kanto. Through this activity, we are pursuing maintenance of local resources and improvement of communication with local people.

Our group supports "Shimizu Port Festival Dance" held every August 4th in synchronization with port opening anniversary. Every year, we practice traditional dances in advance to heap up the festival.
