Shimizu S-Pulse

Assist local people and their sport promotion

Since February 1993, Suzuyo has provided operational support of the Japanese League professional football team "Shimizu S-Pulse". As an enterprise, born of and raised in Shimizu (Shizuoka prefecture) which is famous as "Soccer Kingdom", we would like to continue to support S-Pulse and respond to the wishes of the citizens. Through this support we further contribute to the promotion of sport culture in the local communities.
Suzuyo also agrees with the spirit of S-Pulse and supports their activities which includes the declaration of being the "1st carbon-offset professional soccer club" in Japan. We support the holding of a variety of activities such as the promotion of eco-enlightenment events and turfing lawns at schools, kindergartens, nursery schools etc.

Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology (SIST)

Towards further development of the local society

Shizuoka Prefecture is located between the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Chubu area of Japan and while it may have lacked sufficient research institutes and facilities in regards to higher level education in the science/technology field in the past, a wide variety of cutting edge technologies and industries supporting these endeavors are based in the area.
In response to requests from a spectrum of different fields, Suzuyo established the "Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology (SIST)" in the green hill area of Fukuroi city in April 1991, being the 1s Intitute of Technology in Shizuoka.
With the appointment of Yohei Suzuki VIII as the first president, Suzuyo positively backs up its management and expects to further contribute to the local society through the education of young people at this school which now has 2 faculties, 7 departments, 2 master's programs, aiming to contribute to the development of the region through the development of human resources leading us to a bright future.

Verkehl Museum

To inherit past and present of Shimizu

The Verkehl (meaning "Traffic" in German) Museum focuses on the connection between people and the sea. We can learn about the history of Shimizu Port, which is the birthplace of Suzuyo Group, from its very beginnings through the preservation of historical materials and exhibits of the port on display.
Suzuyo Group, as an enterprise having a deep relationship with ocean related business and port work, has been supporting this museum since its inception in 1977 when it was first established.

Minaguchi-ya Gallery

To convey the history of this venerable inn

Minaguchi-ya, an historical inn during the Edo period prospered from its locational importance in the Tokaido area and as a villa-inn during the Meiji, Taisho and Showa periods was visited and cherished by many politicians, artists and other historical celebrities such as the Showa-Emperor and Empress (in 1957), Prince Kin-mochi Saionji, Hirobumi Ito as well as a plethora of other great, revered figures. As an active inn its history quietly came to a close in 1985.
For historical inheritance and to convey over 400 years of the inns history, Suzuyo Group opened "Minaguchi-ya Gallery" in 1999 where visitors can enjoy historical exhibits including books, pictures, kakejikus (hanging scrolls), tableware used by the Showa-Emperor and Empress etc.

Welfare facility "Shishihara-So"

To serve handicapped people

In 1975, Yohei Suzuki VII established "Tamagashi-kai" with the aim of improving the support environment for mentally handicapped people. Subsequently, in December of the same year, a mentally handicapped care facility "Shishihara-so" was established. The building was further renewed in 2013 to meet new anti-quake resistance requirements.
"Tamagashi-kai" also started operating an outpatient work support facility for people with intellectual disabilities known as "Misuzu". Suzuyo Group members support seasonal events for both of the facilities to which our group employees actively participate in as volunteers.

Shimizu municipal hospital and Suzuyo Fund to promote medical studies

To support the local areas medical development

In the 1940's there were no public medical facilities in Shimizu. This led to Yohei Suzuki VII to donate land to the municipal government and in doing so the 1st public hospital could be established in the area. The hospital is now one of the leading comprehensive medical institutions in the region with 18 clinical departments responding to a wide range of medical needs both within and outside of the catchment area.
In addition, the Suzuyo Fund which started in conjunction with the establishment of the hospital, supports the development of regional medicine as well as supporting advanced research and the technological improvement of doctors.
